The artwork I chose to photograph and show on this website consisted of traditional black and white photography along with digital photography. Having the opportunity to photograph anything I desired made my collection meaningful to myself. My traditional photographs consist of some of my favorite things, such as places, holidays, activities and animals. My digital photographs are made up of places and events that I was fortunate enough to live through, some that many will never be able to see and experience. When I first started taking pictures I was just taking them of anything to get me by, but the more pictures I took, the more I wanted to display to others my interests in a creative way. Although my collection does not have a specific theme to display to others, the more I look at it the more appreciation I was able to gain for this course and photography as a whole. Each photograph I have taken has influenced me in a way to where I have learned to appreciate everything involved with photography, each have a different meanings and impacts on others.
My art is able to relate to my contemporaries because we each were able to take pictures that showed important factors in our lives, some things that affect us daily and some that we were able to experience for a short period of time. We were each able to grasp an appreciation for the things we chose to photograph whether it being architecture, cultures, or nature, and show it off to others.
